Shelley Park Neuro Care Centre provides comfortable and modern residential accommodation, major elements of which have been purpose built and specifically designed for Residential, Day Service, Respite Care and Community Based Clients.
We offer Therapeutic, Recreational and Social facilities designed to support the needs of adults living with neurological and physical disabilities. In addition to excellent access to community facilities Shelley Park benefits from a large outside space with gardens specifically designed on a 'sensory model' to resonate with the needs of our client group.
The Shelley Park main site situated between Florence Road and Westby Road comprises:
The primary residential Nursing Care unit. It offers bright personalised accommodation and communal space together with comprehensive specialist equipment to support the needs of residents. The accommodation requirements are determined on assessment in our dedicated admission facility and are continually reviewed in line with individual care planning requirements and clinical progression.
Is the main Rehabilitation and Therapy unit and also accommodates the purpose designed Transitional, Independent and Shared Living Units, which are:
- The Loft – Independent Flat
- The Gateway - Supported Shared Living
- The Bridge - Fully Adaptive Single Occupancy Flat
THE LOFT comprises a large living/ kitchen/ dining area, separate bedroom and shower room. It is intended for an independently mobile individual, who requires ongoing support and supervision to further prepare for independent living in their own accommodation.
THE GATEWAY accommodates four residents, and has fully adapted communal facilities. Each resident has their own large bed/ sitting room and access to one of two fully equipped wet rooms and shared kitchen diner. The Gateway offers transitional living for people who require ongoing support and supervision to enable them to acquire the skills necessary for community supported living, or to return to their own home.
THE BRIDGE is accessed via its own private entrance. Accommodation is fully adapted to facilitate independent living, is open-plan, and comprises kitchen-dining area, bedroom, living area and wet room. It is intended that residents here will be supported by a full rehabilitation package to maximise independence, enabling the individual to become familiar with the day to day structure and care package that will be put in place to aid and implement a planned move into their own Community Based accommodation.
SHELLEY HOUSE is the main reception 'hub' for the Centre. The building hosts our Day Services programme and Family Support Service, with a large conservatory style communal area overlooking the gardens. Shelley House is frequently used by clients and their families for personal celebrations and special occasions. Music Therapy Sessions, Sensory Stimulation facilities and the Clinical Psychology services are also based in this building, as well as the Centre's education and training facility .
